Break The Cycle In Park-Ex Theatre Co. is a Theatre company based out of the Park-Extension neighbourhood of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Founded by Artistic Director Joseph Ste-Marie. Our company’s mandate is to “Break The Cycle” by producing plays that tell stories that are not normally told from serious subjects to plays that just simply gives the audience a good time watching a play. The company’s mandate will evolve in the coming weeks & months. Initially founded in January 2015 under the company’s original name, “Break The Cycle Theatre Co.” with the one-man show, “This Show is Broken” written & performed by Joseph Ste-Marie for the 2015 Shortstanding Festival at The Freestanding Room. The piece told through experimental scripted improv, explored his journey from birth to his interests in storytelling and theatre to his struggles with bullying, his adventures in photography to his goal of entering Theatre School. The company relaunched in November 2019 when the company got accepted into the 2020 St-Ambroise Montreal FRINGE Festival. Because of COVID-19, The company instead presented a remounted digital theatre of “This Show Is Broken” for the 2021 St. Ambroise Montreal FRINGE festival, which was one of the Montreal Gazette\'s Top 10 shows of 2021. Currently, we are producing the 3rd edition of \"This Show is Broken\", which will be presented at MainLine Theatre from May 15th-19th.
