My function is to assist clients identify and define goals and values which then allows the process of a comprehensive financial plan take place. Ultimately, this process brings clarity to situations previously mired in doubt, anxiety or confusion. This is true whether the topic is in the Estate, Succession, or Retirement planning arena. Without a proper estate plan in place, federal and state laws dictate how property and assets are divided, with no regard to the individual\'s wishes. Furthermore, family conflicts and legal problems often arise tying up the estate and slowing down the distribution of assets. Additional administrative expenses and taxes, which must be deducted from the estate, can also reduce its overall value.Acting as a facilitator and working closely with the client’s legal and accounting advisors, I become part of the financial planning team assisting the client come to terms with their wishes as to:1.How to manage the impact of taxes and who will be the ultimate estate beneficiaries;2.Who will run the business or will it be sold; and3.Feel a sense of real calm and security seeing the implementation of their dreams and ambitions via the creation of “a comprehensive financial plan”.
