ABOUT JOSEPH SCLAFANI

In April 2018, I was appointed by Governor Bryant to serve as Circuit Judge for Hinds County, Post 4. Prior to my appointment, I spent fifteen years as a litigation partner at Brunini, Grantham, Grower & Hewes, PLLC. I have been recognized by Best Lawyers in Appellate Law and received a Peer Review rating of AV 5 from Martindale Hubbell. I also have been recognized by Benchmark: Appellate as a leading appellate attorney in the Fifth Circuit and a \"preeminent Appellate Practitioner in the country.\" I was designated by American Lawyer & Corporate Counsel as a Top Rated Lawyer in Appellate Law and named a Mid-South Rising Star in Civil Litigation Defense. I began my litigation practice in at Wilson Sonsini in Palo Alto, California. I received my J.D. summa cum laude from Mississippi College School of Law where I served as the Articles Editor of the Law Review, was a member of the Moot Court Board and a Hearin-Hess Scholar, and earned American Jurisprudence Awards for best paper in seven classes. After graduation, I served as a law clerk to the Honorable E. Grady Jolly of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
