ABOUT JOSEPH SASEEN
As a nationally recognized leader in cardiometabolic pharmacotherapy, I have over 25 years of experience advancing cardiovascular care through clinical innovation, research, and education. I currently serve as Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs at the University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy, where I lead strategic clinical partnerships and oversee a multimillion-dollar clinical enterprise. I am also a tenured Professor of Clinical Pharmacy and Family Medicine.My expertise spans lipidology, hypertension, heart failure, and diabetes, with a strong focus on translating evidence-based therapies into real-world outcomes. I have authored over 200 peer-reviewed publications, contributed to landmark cholesterol and hypertension guidelines (including the 2018 and 2026 AHA/ACC Cholesterol Guidelines), and served as President of the National Lipid Association (2020–2022). My research has been funded by NIH, industry, and health systems, with recent work addressing GLP-1s, PCSK9 inhibitors, and adherence strategies in ASCVD.As a former PGY2 Ambulatory Care Residency Director (1998–2023), I’ve mentored generations of clinical leaders.
