I am a board certified chief prosecutor assigned to the post-conviction writs division of our office where I conduct habeas investigations and litigate writs filed under sections 11.07, 11.071, 11.072, 11.073 and 11.09 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure. My job is to make sure the right thing is done in each case. Before, I was the District Court Chief of the 174th District Court.My previous assignments within the office have included rotations through the trial bureau as a felony 2 level prosecutor in the 338th District Court and briefly in the 232nd District Court. I served as a felony 2 level prosecutor for one year in our Family Criminal Law Division where I specialized in prosecuting domestic violence cases with non-participating victims with a focus on sexual assaults between intimate partners. I served in the 183rd District Court as a felony 3 level prosecutor before becoming a chief misdemeanor prosecutor who supervised and trained prosecutors for ten months in both County Courts 9 and 10. I began my career as a misdemeanor prosecutor in county courts 6, 3, and 7. I also served as a misdemeanor prosecutor in our Family Criminal Law Division.I have practiced in nearly every felony district court in Harris County, and County Courts at Law numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 9, and 10. I currently also practice, to some extent, in the Court of Criminal Appeals since the Court is the ultimate arbiter in 11.07 and 11.071 habeas proceedings.
