About Joseph Ramos
I am a Harris-Walz campaign alum who worked as a field organizer in Detroit. I am also a recent journalism + political science graduate from Northwestern University\'s Medill School of Journalism.This campaign, I talked to hundreds of voters who felt government didn\'t care about them. They heard the word \'politics\' and thought only of empty promises.I am seeking a role in political communications because I want to build a message that fits in the story people tell of their communities. In Detroit, many do not feel progress. Many feel investment has passed them over. If Democrats want to restore people’s faith, we must acknowledge unfairness and dedicate our message to a pathway out.With my background in writing, public relations and community organizing, I will help candidates talk about the basics of what government can do: help voters earn a living, buy a house, start a family. Showing how our policy fits into people\'s lives, how it helps them get ahead, is how we get voters to believe in it.
