ABOUT JOSEPH P. AVIOLA
Joseph P. Aviola, Jr, Ed.D. is the Assistant Vice President of Administrative and Legal Affairs at Wilmington University. Prior to this position Dr. Aviola served 9 years as the Program Chair for the Master of Administration of Justice and Homeland Security Degree Programs at Wilmington University. He also served as past Chair for the Wilmington University Faculty Senate. Dr. Aviola began his professional career as a Delaware State Trooper. During his 22-year tenure as a trooper, he was assigned to patrol, criminal investigations, undercover narcotics investigations, the police-training academy, and administration. He is a master certified State Police Academy Instructor, with recognized expertise in the area of police ethics, human trafficking and criminal interdiction. Dr. Aviola is also a graduate of the Northwestern University School of Police Supervision and Leadership. In addition to his current role at Wilmington University, Dr. Aviola teaches courses on the topic of criminology and law enforcement ethics for the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences.
