   Director of Public Affairs for MTA Construction and Development (MTACD)Responsible for government, community and media relations activities for MTACD, across all projects. Projects include the:$10.17B dollar East Side Access,$4.5B dollar Second Avenue Subway, the 7 Line Extension, Fulton Center, and the Cortlandt Street station restoration.Adviser to the Senior Director, Public Relations on all aspects of projects, providing input in to the design and implementation of external communication strategies aimed to foster and maintain public support for projects among elected officials, community groups, affected institutions and the news media. Executor of the external communications strategy for MTA Construction & Development, ensuring that MTA messaging is communicated successfully to the community, elected officials and their staffs and the news media in support of MTACD fiscal and operational objectives. Duties include- Develop and maintain a broad-based line of communication with elected officials, community leaders and members of the media. To further improve the understanding of MTACD policies, issues and activities- Identify Public Relations issues affecting MTACD construction and administration; suggests strategies to resolve outstanding issues and executes these strategies- Develop and pitch story ideas to the media to promote MTACD\'s projects and disseminate it\'s messaging to a wide variety of audiences through story placement- Draft press releases, event advisories, presentations, pitch letters and other collateral material for use in promoting projects and communicating MTACD messages- Attend meetings with community boards, construction advisory committees, elected officials and others, as necessary- Assist in overseeing work of community outreach and communications consultants on MTACD\'s projects.
