Transportation Safety Division Member @National Safety Council

The Transportation Safety Division is comprised of transportation industry leaders and professionals from smaller local operations throughout the UNited States. This group is dedicated to identifying motor transportation safety needs and developing innovative solutions aimed at improving safety and operations. In our “Journey to Safety Excellence” our members work collaboratively with NSC staff to share their knowledge and work to develop safety policies, procedures and educational materials to eliminate preventable deaths and injuries at home, in our communities and the workplace. In this position I serve in several leadership positions including Chairman of the Commercial Fleet Section and currently serve as the Secretary of the Transportation Safety Division for the past six years. In fall of 2019 I am slated to be the incoming Vice Chairman of the Transportation Safety Division. In 2010 and 2018 I joined with other industry leaders chosen to update the National Safety Council’s Motor Fleet Safety Manual used by many as their go to reference for Commercial Motor Vehicle Safety and Compliance guidance. In 2015 I was awarded the National Safety Council’s Distinguished Service to Safety Award. This award is the highest bestowed on and individual by the National Safety Council and is presented in recognition of impacting safety at a National level. My relationship with the National Safety Council and my peers has been the driving force in helping small and large commercial fleets improve safety and operations.
