Since 1997, I\'ve operated Purpose Networks, a strategic advisory firm at the intersection of social change, strategy and communications. Our work across sectors ranging from financial services, energy and media to environmental protection, education reform and human rights has helped secure more than $5 billion in financial assets under management, generated more than $50 million in charitable contributions and mobilize tens of millions of people worldwide. My clients have included major corporations, UN agencies and leading nonprofit organizations, including PNM Resources, Calvert Investments, First Wind, Covanta Energy, Farralon Capital, Citibank, US Department of Energy, Amnesty International, Sierra Club, New Energy Economy, Count Me In, NetAid and the New Mexico Statehood Centennial. In 2012-13, I worked on the core team that created an alternative EPA Regional Haze compliance solution for the 1,800MW San Juan Generating Station coal-fired power plant in northwestern New Mexico. This plant has been the center of bitter dispute and high-stakes litigation for decades. Our breakthrough solution meets tough EPA air quality requirements, saves rate payers hundreds of millions of dollars, conserves billions of gallons of water per year and delivers the largest CO2 reduction in New Mexico history.
