About Joseph Shepard McMurray
As a sophomore in the honors business program, I have developed strong skills in mathematics and Excel that help support my academic and leadership goals. My strength in numbers has helped me excel in classes like accounting and statistics, where I often find myself using Excel to analyze data, build budgets, and solve problems. These abilities also play a role in my involvement around campus, not just in the classroom. Recently I was elected Treasurer of my fraternity, a position that shows my reliability and my ability to manage finances accurately. These experiences continue to strengthen my confidence in using numbers to solve real-world problems.Looking ahead, my main goal is to continue developing my financial and analytical skills so I can pursue a career in either corporate finance or wealth management. Being a part of the honors program at Haslam School of Business has motivated me to take on rigorous coursework and seek out internships that will only deepen my understanding of the financial world. I also hope to grow in my role as Treasurer, by getting better at presenting financial information to others.
