About Joseph McCarthy
I am a successful Project Director with 35 years of experience in the development, engineering, procurement, construction and startup of well pad and oil field processing facilities, petrochemical, chemical, refinery and gasification projects. This experience includes leading owner development teams as well as EPC projects for contractors. Coordination of multiple technology suppliers and engineering execution centers located worldwide is a common requirement in low cost, fast track projects. I have experience in domestic US as well as international projects, with a CAPEX range from $200M to $2.5 billion USD. My career has benefitted from long term assignments in South Africa, Korea (2), Indonesia and Australia as well as projects located 10+ other countries as well. I have also led an EPC contractors worldwide Proposals and Commercial Analysis group. Our team won $1.8 billion of new work in a year.

Scope of responsibilities includes site evaluation, technology selection, contracting strategy and selection thru the select, define and execution stages of the project thru commissioning of the facility. Provide inputs to the overall project economics evaluation. Primary company representative to external and internal stakeholders. In addition I am the Global VP for Engineering and Project Management - in this role I Chair the Project Evaluation Committee which reviews all significant capital projects and TAR programs and recommends approval or other to the executive management of INSTY. I also monitor major projects and participate in Steering Committee and project review meetings on selected projects.
