As a Navy Nuke, I learned to think under pressure, master complex systems, and solve challenging problems with focus and precision. My journey from the lowest failing grade to being the first to qualify and graduate, earning the Commanding Officer’s Award for Personal Excellence, taught me to learn fast, stay focused, and never stop improving. Within one year of leaving the Navy, I began working in Data Center Engineering where I completed my qualifications in less than half the allotted time, and became one of three founding members of the Business Continuous Improvement Team—breaking into new and uncharted territory for Data Center Engineering. I saw a need, learned everything I could, and continue to learn relentlessly to innovate at every opportunity. Now, as a Software Solutions Developer at AWS, I specialize in AI-driven workflows, intelligent agents, and generative AI models like Claude by Anthropic, Amazon Nova, and Amazon Q Developer. I leverage the discipline, analytical skills and system thinking I developed in the Navy to accelerate experimentation, boost productivity, and unlock value for businesses. My focus is on building scalable solutions that drive innovation and impact.Despite following an unconventional path, I’ve always been relentless in my learning. From studying marine ecosystems, soil microbiology, and culinary science, to exploring connections across unrelated subjects, I’ve developed a pattern-focused mindset—one that enables me to spot hidden opportunities, connect the dots, and solve complex problems in creative and effective ways.Mentorship has been one of the most valuable forces in my journey.
