About Joseph Kunz

As the Chief Operating Officer for a municipal water and wastewater utility in Central Texas, Mr. Kunz is responsible for the District’s operational functions including municipal water production, wastewater processing, recycling, as well as equipment and facilities management. Mr. Kunz is also responsible for the District’s capital project management, where he will oversee in excess of $70 million in District improvements over the next eight years.Prior to his career in utilities management, Mr. Kunz most recently held the position of Engineering Manager where he was responsible for the planning, design, testing and manufacture of high-tech equipment for the Nuclear and Defense Industries. He is additionally, a 15-year veteran of the US Navy where he served at increasing levels of supervision and leadership in the Nuclear Power sector. He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Texas A&M as well as a Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Energy Engineering Technology from Thomas Edison State University in Trenton, New Jersey and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
