ABOUT JOSEPH KNOWLES

Hi I\'m Joseph, I am currently a penultimate year BSc Social and Political Sciences student and have found my passion lies in community engagement, policy and public affairs. An advocate for human and civil rights, tackling prejudice and empowering youth- Proudly serving as a Regional Ambassador for the Holocaust Educational Trust working to promote education, awareness of the Holocaust and its contemporary relevance today, especially in young people. Sharing and listening to survivor testimony, to ensure that prejudice is always challenged- As a Next Gen Ambassador for the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust I champion remembrance of the Holocaust and subsequent genocides, standing against all forms of hatred and connecting communities. Planning events to mark Holocaust Memorial Day centred around our social responsibility to ensure future generations learn from the past- Starting in September 2026 I will be serving as the Academic Rep for the Politics and International Studies Society (Polis Soc), where I will be supporting and representing our members academic interests on committee- Balance my studies and additional commitments with working part time in a restaurant, where I have refined my ability to work in teams and achieve shared goals. Actively seeking oppourtunities to gain further knowledge/ expand my horizons, in socially and politically impactful roles.
