ABOUT JOSEPH HYLAK-REINHOLTZ

Joe Hylak-Reinholtz helps healthcare providers and suppliers negotiate and close corporate transactions and understand what must be done to ensure compliance with ever-changing federal and state healthcare regulations. Joe’s clients include hospitals, dialysis facilities, ambulatory surgery centers, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and independent diagnostic testing facilities. Joe also has more than a decade of experience in Illinois government, where he worked on legislative, regulatory and complex budgetary issues in the healthcare field. In his transactional work, Joe advises healthcare providers on business formation, sales, mergers and acquisitions, reimbursement, and negotiating contracts with third-party vendors. In the regulatory arena, he counsels clients on establishing and maintaining compliance with federal and state laws and regulations, including, but not limited to, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and the federal Stark Law and Anti-Kickback Statute. Joe also has extensive experience with certificate of need (CON) programs. From 20••••06, he was as an ex-officio member of the Illinois Health Facilities and Service Review Board. He now assists clients with CON applications and helps them develop a strategy for obtaining state board approval. Joe also represents healthcare facilities and individual practitioners in the pursuit and renewal of licenses, certifications, permits and registrations. Prior to law school, Joe served as a senior policy advisor to the Director of the Illinois Department of Healthcare & Family Services, as a lobbyist with the Illinois Health Care Association, representing long term care providers, and as a research/appropriations analyst for the Speaker of the Illinois House of Representatives.
