ABOUT JOSEPH HOPKINS
I am a strategic project leader with a proven track record of delivering complex, multi‑million‑pound infrastructure and property developments from concept through completion. My experience spans retirement living, healthcare, and specialist housing, where I’ve managed projects at £20m+ scale, navigating regulatory frameworks and coordinating multi‑disciplinary teams to achieve compliance, quality, and stakeholder satisfaction.I thrive in environments that demand clarity, comparability, and actionable insights. Whether setting up programmes, refining workflows, or leading stakeholder engagement, I bring a process‑driven approach that balances technical rigor with creative adaptability. My background in architecture and project management gives me a unique perspective on both design and delivery, enabling me to bridge technical detail with strategic outcomes. When transitioning from architecture to project management, I recognised the necessity of enhancing my skills and therefore enrolled and completed Prince2 and APM courses. Additionally, I acknowledge the significance of chartership for both business objectives and professional growth. My professional background includes working with large public sector organisations, most recently on a significant project for the NHS in Bristol. My architectural background has provided me with a solid foundation in the RIBA lifecycle, which I have effectively integrated into project management, ensuring a thorough understanding of each stage’s requirements. I have worked with JCT contracts, my academic studies also covered NEC contracts, providing me with an awareness of their processes. In architecture and project management, I have supervised junior staff, developed career plans, and formulated development strategies. Across all my previous projects I pride myself on my stakeholder management ability; I use matrixing to identify who the key stakeholders are and how they could impact the project to understand how to deal with the individual on the project. I am keen on expanding my professional network and believe building long-term relationships, combined with high-quality work, is essential for driving repeat and new business.Currently, I’m working for UHBW as a temporary role since returning from international travel. I am actively preparing for my next career move in infrastructure. I’m motivated by opportunities to shape resilient systems, build collaborative platforms, and deliver projects that leave a lasting impact on communities and economies.
