Work at all five water plants servicing everything from alum, phosphoric acid, flouride, chlorine process/feed systems and associated injectors. Service all bathroom facilities, design and install various piping systems, preventive maintenance and repair on all pumps and associated piping and hydraulic circuits utilized with water production. Maintain steam generator heating system and all piping, condensate return pump stations, tanks, and heaters needed for the heating system. Test, repair and install backflow prevention assemblies at all five fresh water plants. Order all repair kits and parts needed for repair/testing of the backflow preventer assemblies and maintain records of all testing and repairs that are done. When needed I meet with contractors to discuss cross connection issues within the plants regarding current contract jobs. For all job assignments I must evaluate and diagnose, make parts list and submit for a quote, after parts have been ordered and are onsite I then verify order is correct. On many occasions I coordinate with other trade persons and their supervisors in an effort to complete the job in safe and timely manner. It is also not unusual to work in permit required confined spaces and have done so at all the water plants.
