As an environmental field technician I am doing LDAR daily on multiple different job sites. LDAR is an abbreviation for leak detection and repair and it stands out from other environmental jobs due to the unique specialized equipment and techniques like using and calibrating a toxic vapor analyzer every day to ensure accurate readings and being compliant with EPA Method 21 standards. It also provides a unique insight on many industries you would not regularly be able to see such as offshore oil rigs and natural gas refineries.
