ABOUT JOSEPH GEIBIG
I graduated in 2022 with an undergraduate degree in Business Analytics from the University of Tennessee with a minor in Environmental Studies. During my time at the University of Tennessee I had the honor of becoming a Global Leadership Scholar and studying abroad in London. Additionally, I was lucky enough to be able to mentor over 50 students during my time at the university – helping them navigate the university to the best of their ability. Upon finishing my time at Tennessee, I attended Georgia Tech\'s Master of Analytics program where I specialized in Computational Data Analytics. As part of this curriculum, I have taken classes involving machine learning, data visualization practices, advanced python skills, network modeling, and NLP to name a few. I graduated from this program in 2023 with a 4.0 GPA. Additionally, throughout my time at Georgia tech I won two datathons: one hosted by Best Buy and one by the Society of Critical Care Medicine. Currently I am a Manufacturing Data Scientist at International Paper. As one of the first data scientists in the entire company, I spend most of my day developing our tech stack, building models for customers inside our manufacturing facilities, and being a leader in foundational analytics initiatives across the company. Additionally, I have spent a considerable amount of my time in this role teaching people on my team about a number of different machine learning and data science concepts. In my free time I love spending my time learning about new data science methods and working on personal projects to further develop my skills.
