About Joseph Frassica
I serve as Professor of the Practice for MIT’s Institute for Medical Engineering and Science and as Executive Director of the MIT Hood Pediatric Innovation Hub. Previously, I was Head of Philips Research for the Americas and Chief Medical Officer of Philips North America, where I led a multidisciplinary medical, science, and technology team focused on delivering clinically impactful innovation at the patient bedside.Our work spanned a broad portfolio—from advances in ultrasound and AI technologies to the development of large-scale, data-driven predictive algorithms aimed at improving outcomes across diverse healthcare settings.In my role as Medical Leader for Philips\' largest market, North America, I supported employees and oversaw activities accounting for more than half of the company’s global revenue.In addition to my current roles at MIT, I serve on the pediatric critical care staff at Massachusetts General Hospital and as Pediatric Section Editor for the Journal of Intensive Care Medicine.
