The Supercurricular Project is a programme designed for Year 12 students who are interested in interdisciplinary learning and want to gain the necessary skillset to tackle more advanced intellectual challenges. This programme aims to widen participation in higher education by giving students from a state-educated background access to the resources and intellectual spaces that have been historically reserved for students from more privileged educational backgrounds. The first term will be focused on introducing students to more abstract theoretical concepts in the humanities and social sciences. This project will begin with a micro-lecture series on advanced sociological topics ranging from Feminist Ecomomics to Decolonial Pedagogy. The students will also receive the exciting opportunity to attend lectures delivered by academics at the University of Cambridge and researchers working for the United Nations.
