With over 30 years of experience as an author and a writing coach, I help writers of all levels and genres improve their craft, style, and voice. I am the author of \"A Few Words About Words: A commonsense approach to writing and English grammar\", a book that combines humor and wisdom to teach the essentials of effective communication, and I am the author of \"Crisis Communications and the art of making nothing happen,\" a novel about crisis communications.Before becoming a full-time author and coach, I worked as a director of external relations, communication, and public relations for several prestigious academic institutions, such as Vanderbilt University and the University of Pennsylvania. I managed branding, publications, web content, social media, and public relations, and created innovative strategies to promote faculty research, student success, and alumni engagement. I have a background in journalism, speech writing, and marketing, and a bachelor\'s degree in journalism/communications from the University of Bridgeport. I am passionate about helping writers find their voice, tell their stories, and reach their audiences.
