Joe Cicali is a mortgage and fintech executive with more than 20 years of experience building, scaling, and modernizing lending businesses through technology, process, and disciplined execution.In October, Joe stepped into the role of President & CEO of SimpLend Mortgage, a company he founded in 2023. While he was an early investor and founder, Joe was non-operational by design until assuming the President & CEO role. He is now actively building SimpLend into a modern, tech-forward mortgage platform focused on clarity, efficiency, and a better experience for both consumers and loan officers.Previously, Joe served as Head of Mortgage at Mesa, where he stood up and led the development of a mortgage marketplace that connected homeowners with lenders and brokers through a rewards-driven homeownership model. He completed that engagement after successfully delivering the platform.Before Mesa, Joe was Chief Strategy Officer at UMortgage, where he helped optimize origination and operations through technology-enabled workflows and process redesign. Earlier, as Chief Strategy Officer at Garden State Home Loans, he helped scale the brokerage to consistent high-volume production by implementing automation, analytics, and a disciplined sales operating model.Earlier in his career, Joe served as CEO of ARIVE, helping build and scale one of the most widely adopted loan origination platforms in the broker channel.Across every role, Joe’s focus has been consistent: eliminate friction, modernize the mortgage experience, and build platforms where great people can do their best work.
