ABOUT JOSEPH CERRONE
I was born into the Construction industry; my great grandfather was brought to this country as a stone mason to build Grand Central Station in NY. My grandfather and father were both custom home builders/developers in Westchester County NY. I still remember going to work with my father as a helper and then carpenter every summer through junior high and high school. In 1983, I opened J.C. Cerrone, Inc. It wasn’t long before the firm ranked in the top 500 commercial interior construction companies in the U.S, completing tens of thousands of Class A office space, family-owned and national restaurant chains, as well as high-end retail interiors in some of South Florida’s most prestigious malls. We also acted as the Discovery Zone’s at-fee developer and design/build contractor, completing several Florida locations in two years.I joined RDC in 1995. As president and CEO, I am responsible for the daily operations of the company and oversee our business development and preconstruction divisions. From 1995 to 2008, we specialized in parks, aquatic complexes, recreational and sports facilities. Our clients included the cities of Doral, Fort Lauderdale and Miami, as well as nearly 75 percent of the local governments and municipalities in Miami-Dade and Broward counties. In 2008, we expanded our capabilities to include P3 development projects and commercial and hospitality sectors.
