About Joseph C Gallagher
Hello! I lead the Architectural Department here at Ramaker and focus on both design and business development efforts across our A/E/I Design services! Pleasure to (virtually) meet you! Originally from just outside of Philadelphia, PA, my wife and I moved to Madison in August 2016. I am a Registered Architect (AZ, CO, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN. MN, MO, ND, NE, NJ, NM, NY, OH, PA, SC, SD, TX, UT & WI) and member of the American Institute of Architects, Wisconsin chapter. I am also a LEED Green Associate and NCARB certified. My architectural expertise is within Hospitality & Bars/Restaurants, Multi-family with an interest in Affordable Housing and Senior Living, and I have prior work in K-12/University, Municipal and Retail experience as well. Affordably priced housing is something that I am very passionate about. Everyone deserves the opportunity to afford a place to call ‘home.’ Creating sustainable, adaptable and affordable communities, with integrated services & amenities, is the ultimate fundamental concept towards a better way of life for all. Notice - I didn\'t label the housing as \'affordable\' or \'workforce\' or \'low-income\'; simply \'affordably priced\'. Labels matter. Labels create unnecessary opinion. Message me if you want to hear more. Senior Housing is another passion of mine. Adaptability NEEDS to be a key component in all our design work. We cannot design just for the present, but instead need to design for the long term – aging in place. The collaboration between designers and medical professionals within the field of aging and memory loss is imperative as the baby boomers begin to retire. Hospitality, Entertainment & the Community because, who doesn’t want to have fun? Designing the first two with a hospitality mindset, results in better spaces. Sure, price is always a concern – but there are ways to value engineer early on and maintain desired design aesthetics throughout. Ask me, I am happy to explain! Finally, the concept of Intergenerational Housing is something I research and speak about regularly throughout the state. I can prove that the housing model can help with the senior care workforce crisis, not just at a state level, but nationally – please do ask me about it! I am an avid Philadelphia sports fan and \\buy/sell Sportscards and Memorabilia as a hobby: FLY EAGLES FLY!
