About Joseph Benson
Raised in the building materials industry, Joe has been involved and exposed his entire life to epoxy coatings, waterproof decking systems, decorative concrete systems, roof coatings and wall coatings. While co-managing his family company, Joe also focuses on educating and working directly with architects, property managers, builders, consultants and applicators, advocating for new coatings technologies and supporting technical services such as spec writing and L&L presentations. He is also involved in several chapters and organizations such as AIA-CES, CAI, CSI and CACM chapters. Joe has been featured and has articles published in several construction focused magazines such as Coatings World Magazine, Construction Insight Magazine and Apartment Association (AOA). In addition, he has been featured on several industry podcasts such as \"HOA Pros\" and HOA\'s \"It\'s a True Story.\" In addition, he has also been a guest speaker at several events for LAUSD, LA-Painters Union, RCI, CAI, KTGY, Shubin-Donaldson, and AIA. While Joe\'s favorite niche is marketing and business development strategy, Joe is also heavily involved in sales management, operations management, branding, POP/POS development, digital SEO marketing, customer communication marketing, customer service, operations and other strategies in order to increase communication and implement feedback from customers and clients. About LSC: Life Specialty Coatings, formally Life Paint Company, was co-founded by Bob Benson, his grandfather, a WWII medic veteran, and good friend Bill Sibbrel, in 1963. While the company started as a local small paint and oil manufacturer, Life Specialty Coatings today manufacturers and distributes over 300+ different decking systems, sealers, urethane, roof coatings, deck coatings, waterproofing systems, epoxy systems, floor coatings, wall coatings, specialty finishes and private label systems internationally for predominantly commercial and industrial applications. Life Specialty Coatings has worked on projects at Boeing, NASA, Disney, Universal, Hyatt, Hilton, Powerstone, FirstService, Toll Brothers, Pulte, Irvine Company, and many more notable organizations. Life Specialty Coatings operates under 10+ different brands and numerous trademarks such Life Deck Specialty Coatings, Cool Life Heat Reflective Technology, Life Paint, Americrete, StretchGuard (Roof Coatings), Rain Shield (Wall Coatings), LifeTimePlus Coatings of America (Wall Coatings), FireFighter Coatings, AquaLife and more.

Today, with all of the changes we and other team members have made, the company has transformed, and I’m proud to be part of the leadership team guiding it forward. From new technologies and systems to a deeper investment in our employees and customers, the changes underway are helping to create new beginnings. I am excited for this next chapter and grateful to be part of a company where continuous improvement and innovation drives what we do. We have come a long way and are still learning more every day we grow.
