ABOUT JOSEPH BARSTAD

I\'m a collaborative strategist who\'s accustomed to operating effectively in uncertain environments. I identify customer needs and share them with my team to rapidly develop strong solutions while also influencing the customer towards outcomes in the best interest of my organization.I\'m also an automotive enthusiast who has the pleasure of working in the automotive industry. Growing up on a ranch in Montana I did a lot of hands on work. Most of it isn\'t directly applicable to many of the challenges I face today, not a lot of people in the car business know what a wheel line is, or how to form, and pour a foundation, but it did give me a great deal of practicality, and a solid work ethic. After studying mechanical engineering at Columbia University I was fortunate to find a job in the industry, and have the opportunity to be a part of the development process. Having the chance to follow a project from launch to fruition is very satisfying even with all the obstacles that are bound to crop up. Being involved in this process makes you realize how much work goes into the entire development process for a car, and how many people are involved.Even though my job is quite technical, and I spend my days reviewing data, preparing formulations, organizing presentations, or sharing them with customers I always find time to make it home, and enjoy spending time with my family, working on cars, or fixing something on the house.
