ABOUT JOSÉ IGNACIO PEÑIL
My name is José Ignacio Peñil,(aka Nacho) and I am working as Pitram Principal Consultant, at Micromine in the Vancouver office, in Canada. Within my responsibilities in the Operations team are all the current Pitram clients and the new ones, always trying to put a new level in the Pitram support and implementation across all America and Indonesia.Personally, so far the most motivating challenge in my career has been joining to Micromine Team in Americas Region, having the opportunity to grow personally and professionally. One of the most important things is to improve operations, and above all automate the work of people, making your working day an easier day, and definitely we can achieve this with Pitram. That’s where I come in. I love helping people squeeze every drop of functionality out of Pitram. I’ve using the software for nearly a decade, both as an in-house and now as a consultant, and I leverage that expertise to help Pitram Users to maximize KPI’s such as availability, utilization, MTBF, MTTR and at the end, being a more productive mine.My background is Computer Science Engineer, MBA Full-time, e-Commerce Specialization, BIG Data, Business Analytics and Advanced English level and also certified on different mine applications.Prior to joining Micromine, I worked at Sandfire MATSA in the south of Spain during 10 years, in the Technology and Operations departments, implementing Pitram from scratch in three underground Mines (Aguas Teñidas, Magdalena and Sotiel) running more that 230 mine equipment being managed with our Mine Control Room. My experience in the mining industry, our equipment and the systems that are used at Sandfire MATSA have made my profile very oriented to continuous improvement, innovation, automation, data analysis and user support.Since it has provided me the opportunity to learn and grow in the mining industry, which I am passionate about. One of the most important things is to improve operations, and above all automate the work of people, making your working day an easier day. Professionally, I want to continue growing, and participate in challenging projects in the mining world, that along with technology, has a great future!
