Ensure 1st mortgage, HELOC, fixed Home Equity, and correspondent loans are underwritten in compliance with secondary market and program-specific guidelines, credit union policies, and regulatory requirements• Analyze and calculate income for all income types: self-employed, rental, hourly and variable pay, fixed/retirement, and any other income types permitted by FNMA• Review, clear underwriting conditions including credit, income, asset, and collateral documentation andresolve routine title issues ensuring loan files meet secondary market and Credit Union guidelines• Order appraisal/title reports and flood certifications, reviewing for issues or disputes and working with various parties to clear outstanding items• Input and update data into loan origination systems, assuring loan file integrity and timely generation of required loan documentation and disclosures• Submit loan files through Desktop Underwriter, review automated underwriting conditions to ensure loan still meets original approval eligibility• Collaborate with loan officers and processors to resolve discrepancies and ensure timeliness of rate locks, compliance, and loan delivery for committed loans• Perform post closing review of loan files to ensure proper documentation compliance• Maintain awareness of industry developments including changes in regulations and loan technology• Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures and Banking/Credit Union Regulations• Fulfill management requests related to loan audit and sale preparation, HMDA reporting and more• Serve as a business lead on departmental or organization-wide projects, contributing underwriting expertise, and executing project deliverables• Support management and credit union staff in developing and implementing process improvements toautomate and streamline loan operations, and maintain adequate loan quality controls
