As part of the Executive Division at EGLE, I promote the department’s mission to protect Michigan’s health and environment by managing air, land, water and energy resources. This includes serving as spokesperson for EGLE, coordinating press inquiries, prepping the director for interviews and media appearances, speechwriting, drafting releases, participating in site visits, and leading media training and writing workshops. I represent executive leadership in redesign of the department’s web presence and associated data migration. Current work focuses on remediation, redevelopment, brownfields, Superfund, radiological protection, hazardous waste, landfills, emergency preparedness, and air quality issues. HAZWOPER 40-hour certified.(OSHA\'s Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response standard.)External collaborations include the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA); the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS); the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI); state and federal legislators; and other governments and communities impacted by environmental crisis. I also assist the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) as spokesperson for the State of Michigan in the case of nuclear or radiological incidents.
