About Jose Montoya
I am trained as an architect with focus on net zero, regenerative and sustainable design. My professional interests and influence vary widely from working with commercial developers to evaluate LEED v4 mixed-use, neighborhood development project to designing an ergonomics policy for a LEED v4 for Commercial Interiors certified project. I take pleasure in managing the rigorous LEED v4 certification process, managing high performance design construction budgets and performing life-cycle assessments to demonstrate the social, environmental and financial benefits of our proposed sustainable design strategies across the United States. My focus is on material transparency, resiliency and regenerative design as an Architectural Designer and Project Manager for Corgan Associates at their Corporate Headquarters in Dallas, Texas. I\'m an active member of Corgan’s Corporate Social Responsibility Committee responsible for the development, implementation and tracking of sustainable design initiatives in a wide range of projects across the firm. As a Project Manager, I currently oversee the implementation of sustainable design initiatives and LEED v4 Certification Process for a SF confidential energy company in Central Texas and also the new Corgan Office Expansion in Dallas. I enjoy volunteering at the national level with the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI) as an education reviewer responsible for the review and approval of continuing education presentations for LEED AP credential maintenance and at the local level with the AIA Dallas Committee on the Environment (COTE) as an advocate for sustainable development in Dallas. I am also a City of Dallas Green Building Ordinance Third Party Plan Reviewer & Inspector for new multi-family residential projects and new commercial projects. I enjoy assisting developers, contractors and other design firms with the Green Building Code Compliance evaluations for their projects in Dallas.
