About Jose Tellechea
Expertise in the energy and energy storage sectors with focus in the US and including consulting over LATAM, the Americas and Europe, and financing of projects in the US and Mexico. Currently part of the ING Fenewables and Power team, with focus on bringing new projects and clients, as well as developing existing relationships. 15+ year experience in the RE space, with hands-on experience in the different processes of the energy projects: financing and loan agreements negotiations, tax equity, contract reviews (PPAs, capacity agreements, etc.), technical due diligence, permitting, market forecasts, financial modelling, environmental impacts, customer relation management, among others. Generated significant leads and new relationships at ING. Led the first project-financed standalone storage financing in the US, for a portfolio of 500 MWh. Headed the 317 MWac Puerto Libertad Solar project in Sonora, Mexico which was awarded the MIREC 2019 project of the year award. Manager for portfolio and back-levered loans. Financial modelling, technical, legal and environmental due diligence for projects including the first US/Mexico cross-border RE project, Energia Sierra Juarez, Project Finance Deal of the Year Ocotillo 265 MW, and the RE Mexican deal of the year, the 148 MW Tres Mesas 1-2 wind farms; first wind project in Coahuila and at the time the largest single wind farm in Mexico (200 MW EDPR project); as well as the 12 MW Davis Monthan air-force base solar project in AZ. Masters degree in Public Administration at UTSASumma cum laude - Top of the 2009 class in International Business Management at Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico.English, French and Spanish speaker.
