About Jose S. Horta
As a Power Trading Intern at NV Energy, I am learning how to analyze market conditions, optimize power generation, and execute trades in the wholesale energy market. I am also developing my financial modeling, forecasting, and risk management skills, using advanced Excel functions and tools. I enjoy applying my analytical and problem-solving abilities to real-world scenarios, while also gaining exposure to the energy industry and its challenges and opportunities.I am also an honors finance and accounting student at UNLV Lee Business School, where I am pursuing a Bachelor\'s degree in Finance with a 3.9 GPA. I am an active member and senior advisor of the Financial Management Association (FMA), where I previously served as the president for 2 years and now mentor and guide the new student board in carrying out the mission of the UNLV FMA. I am passionate about exploring different roles and domains within finance, such as investments, corporate finance, accounting, and technology. I am always eager to learn new skills and concepts, and to challenge myself with projects and competitions.
