About Jose Rodriguez
Managed network infrastructure from a support perspective as a network engineer, IT manager and senior engineering roles at Gap, Inc. as an employee as well as via IBM and AT & T Global services and, presently, with Walmart for a combined 25 years. I am currently working at Walmart e-Commerce supporting the global e-commerce network from a corporate network management and support perspective, which includes wireless and firewall support. Successfully implemented the network/wireless environment for the Walmart.com relocation to 850 Cherry, San Bruno, CA and implemented remote sites in Portland, Oregon from a WAN, LAN, VoIP phone and wireless perspective as well as implemented two office sites in Carlsbad, CA (Walmart Labs), a Customer Care center in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, Mountain View (@Labs), Santa Clara (@Platform - Vudu site) and Sunnyvale CA with WAN, LAN, VoIP and Wireless and migrated Vudu to the new Sunnyvale campus. I have also planned and implemented an expansion office in Bangalore, India successfully as well as I have just finished five additional Sunnyvale campus buildings. During the pandemic, I have migrated access switches to the newer Cisco 9300 switches as well as having completed replacing all access points to the Cisco 2802i’s. I have also worked to design and build out a new Los Angeles Photo Studio, with Mist AP-43\'s for one building, with the other pending migration, along with other buildings pending. I am also working on other site projects, including work with new company acquisitions, IP Vlan assignments, design/implementation items, wireless upgrades and improvements, line-of-sight microwave implementations and building floor changes as it pertain to the network. Continued partnerships with our IT Security teams in regard to Palo Alto firewall upgrades and working through security issues. IOS upgrades, VOIP phone setups and validations, troubleshooting/resolution issues and working with the various vendor relationships to ensure successful implementations of cabling, circuits and vendor equipment (AT & T, CenturyLink and Verizon). Specialties: Wireless, network problem/resolution, implementation, LAN/WAN/VPN, Change control process and procedures, DNS, Currency, Cisco Call Manager 7.15 and up, network design and build out.
