ABOUT JOSE IGNACIO DE ALVEAR CARDENAS

I am a competitive, internationally experienced, and life-long learning aerospace engineer driven by a simple idea: autonomy will redefine how humans and machines interact and move through the world. At NASA Ames Research Center, in collaboration with the SJSU Research Foundation, I focus on making autonomous flight systems smarter, safer, and more connected. With a Master’s in Aerospace Engineering from Delft University of Technology and expertise in control systems, AI, and robotics, I design solutions that bridge simulation and reality; from single-UAS design and autonomy to multi-agent coordination and scalable UAS Traffic Management systems.I am passionate about building technologies that merge intelligence, reliability, and real-world impact. My goal is to translate cutting-edge autonomy research into robust, deployable solutions across domains such as UAVs, autonomous vehicles, and intelligent robotics.I thrive on challenges that broaden my perspective and push me to grow, both as an engineer and as a person. Guided by curiosity, determination, and effective time management with an eye for detail, I approach complex problems with creativity and focus, turning ambitious ideas into tangible results. If you are creating the next generation of autonomous systems — in air, land, or beyond — let’s connect.
