ABOUT JOSE FERNANDEZ
I am a Geophysics Engineer, graduated in 2016 in Cuba. I did an internship for a year in an oil and gas company during my last year of college, and after graduating, I worked for the most productive oil and gas company in my country before moving to the USA looking for a better future for my family and myself. Before starting to work here, I went to Nevada Adult Education, volunteered in Catholic Charities, and joined a program provided by Tech Impact for two months called CXWorks. After that, I started working at Geotab, where I started in Product Support (Tier 1) in July 2017, then moved to Technical Support (Tier 2), then Engineering Support (Tier 3), and finally Solutions Engineering. After 4+ years, I started a new journey with Samsara as Technical Support Engineer, where I expanded my knowledge and experience with IoT.After 5 years in the fleet management and telematics industry, I have ventured back to an area close to my heart where I can use my geophysics background with Fleet Space Technologies. We are revolutionizing the way mineral exploration is done, with our end-to-end solution involving edge processing, satellite connectivity and cloud data processing to enable near real-time Ambient Noise Tomography survey results in an environmentally friendly way. Transitioning to green energy will require enormous deposits of critical resources and Fleet is determined to use our space technology to help make this happen.
