Manage, conduct, and direct the nationwide bridge safety inspection program for the National Park Service and several other federal land management agencies (FLMA). Inspections include above water inspections, underwater inspections, mechanical inspections drawbridges and inspections utilizing nondestructive (NDE) testing methods. Researches, evaluates and implements the latest state of the art inspection tools, NDE testing, and software as it relates to bridge safety inspections. Communicates with representatives of FLMA and other partners regarding bridge safety inspection operations and techniques, including computer programs and other technology developed or used. Apprises them of any important issues related to the inspection, condition, or operational capacity of their bridges. Performs quality assurance review of inspection reports prepared by staff or contractors for correctness and clarity.
