ABOUT JORGE VIETO

Fully bilingual and bi-cultural English/Spanish. • 10 years experience as Community Health Outreach Worker in San Francisco. • Knowledgeable and proficient in client centered counseling techniques. • Able to build relationships with community partners, stakeholders and service providers. • Skilled workshop organizer and facilitator. Most recently organized an educational event on HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) which included stakeholders such as community residents of The Tenderloin Neighborhood, PrEP Navigators from San Francisco and Oakland as well as the leading pharmaceutical company providing PrEP. Keys goals included addressing the informational needs of the community, served to help highlight challenges to equal access to PrEP and mobilize local Community Organizations to combine resources and close gaps in education and access to these potentially life saving drugs. Current member of San Francisco HIV Front Line workers group. Assist with organizing educational events addressing educational needs of Social Workers, Clinicians and Case Managers specifically around Sex work and HIV prevention in the Leather and BDSM community. Expanding reach of San Francisco HIV Front line workers networking efforts as a recipient of full scholarship to U.S Conference on AIDS 2017 in Washington DC. Have served on various Community Advisory boards including the San Francisco’s Hepatitis C task force, San Francisco AIDS Foundation’s Tweaker.org en Español and STOP AIDS Project’s Crystal Clear campaign
