I’m Jorge Jovel, a producer and director who’s always been driven by creativity and storytelling. I was born in Honduras and moved to the Bronx when I was eight, and that’s really where I grew up. From a young age, I was always finding ways to express myself and create.Before I ever picked up a camera, I was on a bike. I became a professional BMX rider and spent years competing and traveling. BMX taught me something I carry with me everywhere: I learned how to fall—fall, fall, fall, fall, fall—and get back up again. To me, winning only comes through losing first. Those crashes built my resilience, and that resilience shaped how I approach both life and work.When my BMX career wrapped up, I shifted gears into media. I started out behind the camera, shooting photos and videos, and quickly worked my way into producing and directing. I found that I loved not only telling stories, but also bringing people together—talent, crews, clients—to make something bigger than any one person could on their own.Now I do that at Sheetz, where I get to produce and direct digital content that shows off our culture, our people, and the energy behind the brand. For me, it’s about more than just making content—it’s about creating something that feels authentic and connects with people.At the end of the day, I still approach every project the way I did BMX: push the limits, keep it fresh, and never lose the passion that got me started.
