ABOUT JORGE CASTRO-CALOU

I am a Florida Registered Architect and LEED AP with more than twenty years of professional experience, spanning every phase of the architectural process—from conceptual design through construction administration. My background combines strong technical expertise, hands-on project leadership, and a deep understanding of how design, construction, and project management intersect to deliver successful buildings.Throughout my career, I have worked with respected firms such as Arquitectonica International Corp, Swanke Hayden Connell, and Pavlik Design Team, where I strengthened my capabilities as both a designer and project manager across commercial and residential building types. After completing my Master’s in Construction Management at FIU, I expanded my perspective further by joining Amicon Management (2015–2019) as an Owner’s/Client Representative, overseeing projects from pre-construction through close-out.I currently serve as Technical Director for MKDA Miami, where I lead architecture, planning, and interior design efforts for corporate, retail, and multifamily residential projects. Our studio is actively developing several mid-rise and high-rise buildings in the Wynwood district, with a strong emphasis on quality assurance, code compliance, and integrated delivery.Collaboration is at the core of how I work. I value the multidisciplinary teamwork essential to this profession and continuously seek opportunities to broaden my expertise, mentor teams, and contribute to meaningful, well-crafted architectural projects.
