Dr. Jorge Arzola is a distinguished urologist with a passion for advancing treatments in benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), overactive bladder (OAB), urinary stone disease, and urologic oncology. With a reputation for pioneering cutting-edge procedures, he has transformed urologic care in the Dayton area.In 2014, Dr. Arzola became the first urologist in Dayton to perform the UroLift procedure for enlarged prostates. His expertise in this innovative treatment led to his recognition as a UroLift Center of Excellence in 2020, a testament to his skill and dedication to improving men’s health. Additionally, he is the leading provider of the InterStim procedure for OAB in the region, earning another Center of Excellence designation for his exceptional proficiency in neuromodulation therapy.Continuing his trailblazing work, Dr. Arzola was the first urologist in Dayton to introduce Aquablation therapy for BPH in 2022. This groundbreaking, robotically guided treatment harnesses the power of water to provide precise, long-lasting relief for men suffering from prostate enlargement.Born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Dr. Arzola is fully bilingual in Spanish and English. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Rochester in 1995 before pursuing his medical degree as an Air Force Health Profession Scholar. His surgical internship at the University at Buffalo set the foundation for a remarkable career, which included service as a U-2 Flight Surgeon at Beale Air Force Base and a Urology residency at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio.From 2008 to 2013, Dr. Arzola served as a urologist at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, where he held leadership roles as Chief of the Urology Element and Commander of the Surgical Specialties Flight. His dedication extended beyond U.S. borders when he was deployed to Afghanistan from 2011 to 2012, providing critical urologic care in a combat zone.A recipient of the prestigious Emmett Broxson Award for Outstanding Compassionate Patient Care in 2010, Dr. Arzola remains committed to excellence in his field. He is board-certified in Urology, holds the rank of Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve, and serves as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Wright State University.
