About Jordyn Balam

I am an aspiring digital storyteller at UNC-Chapel Hill, which houses one of the top journalism and media schools in the nation. I’m passionate about crafting narratives through video, graphics and compelling writing.I contribute to The Daily Tar Heel, one of the nation’s top campus newspapers, by serving as the assistant audiovisual editor. My dedication to impactful communication has also led me to produce material for esteemed, local nonprofits such as HonorBridge and TABLE, which work toward health and social equity. Beyond extensive growth on campus and within the public relations world, I’ve honed my photography and videography skills via personal development and my work as the historian for Kasama, the Filipino organization at UNC. I infuse creativity and cultural diversity into each piece I produce. No matter which community I collaborate with, my work isn’t just visual – it’s a celebration of identity and a bridge for connection. I am a junior at UNC, majoring in advertising and public relations and psychology and minoring in Spanish. I will graduate in the fall of 2026.

   Lead power yoga classes twice a week for a total of 30-50 participants with varying skill sets - Coordinate with leadership team for monthly in-service training- CPR/AED certified
