As a data engineering consultant my role includes deploying data lakehouses through Databricks and Azure using Spark, SQL and Python to create data ingestion pipelines and data cleansing through the data zones: landing raw, base and curated. Creating data contracts to allow for SDC types, transformations rules and data dependencies. Modelling the data to create the curated layer which can be exposed visualisation tools such as Power BI and Tableau. As a consultant a large part of this role is working with clients from the requirements to deployment stage. Having the ability to work with a range of clients with a varying range technical abilities has deepened my technical communication skills as I have to be able to explain these technical concepts to the whole audience. Agile working as a consultant is a key skill and I\'ve been able to assist with leading scrum meetings, sprint retrospectives and playbacks.
