I am from Akron, Ohio. I am the Environmental, Health and Safety Manager for Akron Foundry Company and Akron Electric, Inc. The Akron Foundry Company is the largest privately owned Aluminum Foundry in the State of Ohio and was founded in 1950 by George Ostich. Sand castings, Permanent Mold and Low-Pressure Permanent Mold are the disciplines used in our day to day smelting operations. The Ostich Family remains in ownership to this day and is currently led by George’s son, Michael, daughter Diane Pancoe (nee Ostich) and grandson Michael Pancoe, Jr. Akron Electric, Inc. is the only family-owned and privately-owned manufacturer of Class 1, Division 1 and Class 1, Division 2 explosion-proof electrical enclosure systems made of cast aluminum in the world.
