About Jordan Amaker

I believe deeply in the power of local-independent businesses to shape a place and to drive community wealth and connection. I believe that an economy should work for all, and sees policy as a tool to ensure the economic landscape serves those rooted in this place. I became Director of Advocacy & Communications for Lowcountry Local First in 2024 after serving 8 years as Director of Marketing for the organization and 7 years directing accounts at marketing and public relations firms. I\'m proud to currently serve as co-chair for a nationwide Small Business Rising coalition of the Institute of Local Self-Reliance, and to sit on the leadership team for a statewide Advocacy Allies network of TogetherSC.In 2025, I enjoyed participating in a working group of nationwide advocates examining commercial tenant rights led by the Small Business Anti Displacement Network and in 2026 I look forward to putting this expanded knowledge to work in various commercial development and transit-oriented planning efforts across the Lowcountry.
