About Jordan Husar

Hello, my name is Jordan Husar. I am a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist and Care Manager. My focus is on providing a warm environment that allows my clients to address their presenting challenges with empathy, compassion, and respect. I have worked with individuals dealing with domestic abuse, sexual abuse, alcohol use disorder, substance use disorder, and trauma. Over the past 4 years, I have had the privilege of working with adolescents and adults in both individual and group settings.Through my continued education, I have learned that addiction is a brain disorder, not a moral problem. Both state and trait play a role in the severity of use and learned self-soothing mechanisms, they are not mutually exclusive. I believe more awareness is necessary to remove stigma and shame to allow for long-lasting change to take place. By helping clients change their perceptions of both external and internal factors, they can make necessary changes to improve their quality of life.My approach is person-centered and strength-based, which means I focus on the individual as a whole. I am passionate and committed to helping my clients achieve healing and learn to live a happy and full life without using mind-altering substances.
