I have deep experience in helping companies expand through public affairs and government relations. Early in my career I became very passionate about political campaigns and public policy. Over 8 years and a dozen campaigns, I excelled in building coalitions, constituencies, and movements as well as recruited and managed effective teams. I built up a highly effective network of government professionals during those years that I continue to build and use today.In 2016/2017 my colleague and I saw that some tech companies were doing a poor job of introducing their solutions to state and local governments. In fact, we could see from the headlines these companies were ruffling feathers and lacked the skills to create sustainable policy relationships. So after transitioning to the corporate world as VP of Public Affairs at a regional airline in New Orleans, I co-founded a consultancy called Medora to fill that gap. We offered multi-state/multi-city lobbying, public affairs, procurement, and sales development strategies to a wide variety of clients. During those 5 years as Head of Public Affairs at Medora, our small team drove the passing of dozens of laws and helped procure millions of dollars for companies such as Lime, TIER GmbH, SwissDrones, Metrc, Passport Inc. and the U.S. Soccer Foundation.Success at Medora led to one of my clients, Metrc, offering me the opportunity to build a government relations team in my current role as Director of Government Affairs at Metrc, where I set the public policy agenda. In under a year, I built a team that has secured government contracts, influenced cannabis legalization, and blocked harmful regulations proposed in Metrc’s largest market.I now handle public policy and communications for Airbnb on the state and local level.
