About Jordan Badger

I completed my Bachelor of Science degree in nutrition and dietetics with a minor in psychology at the University of New Hampshire. During my time at UNH, I discovered my passion for both nutrition and research. I was lucky enough to combine them both when I began my undergraduate research and later presented my findings at both local and national conferences.I then completed a combined Master of Science and Dietetic Internship program at Boston University\'s Sargent College. I completed my dietetic internship at Boston Medical Center, gaining experience in clinical, food service, and community dietetics. My professional experiences in clinical dietetics and nutritional research provided me with extensive skills including interprofessional collaboration, effective communication, problem solving, program development, and group leadership. As a Registered Dietitian, I worked in a variety of areas, including clinical nutrition, nutrition counseling, food service, recipe development, food allergies, GI nutrition, and education.After a few years working as a Registered Dietitian, I recognized that my career was missing hands-on patient care. I wanted to be more involved in my patients\' care. As a nurse, I could dive deeper into their physical, mental, and emotional health and support them and enrich their wellbeing through a variety of roles such as educating, advocating, and counseling. Nurses use a holistic lens when providing patient care, which aligns with my desire to care for the entire patient, not just one aspect of their health. Thus, I chose to pursue my BSN. My clinical experiences as a nursing student and work experience as a CNA peaked my interest in acute care, and helped me achieve my goal of becoming a critical care nurse in the medical ICU.
