About Jordan van Voast

I graduated with a Masters in Acupuncture and East Asian Medicine in 1997 and co-founded CommuniChi in 2007 - Washington state\'s first community acupuncture clinic. Since 2011, I have taught meditation at the King County jail through the Tzu Chi Foundation, and at the Dharma Friendship Foundation, serving as President on the Board of Directors. I was a founding Director of Acupuncturists Without Borders and led teams in Louisiana following Hurricane Katrina. In 2010, I volunteered for a 7 day medical relief trip to Port au Prince, Haiti with Tzu Chi International Medical Association. In 2013, I spoke at the United Nations and met with diplomats on behalf of the group Fukushima Response Bay Area, assisting in introducing a Resolution to the General Assembly on mitigating the Fukushima disaster. I consider myself a social entrepreneur, combining public service with spontaneous organization and communication in response to humanitarian emergencies, including the #ClimateEmergency.
